Making More of Your Data

You've got the data. Let's find out what it's telling you.

Turn the information you already have into better commercial decisions.

Retail, FMCG and consumer businesses often receive information from several places: retailers, distributors, field teams, direct-to-consumer channels and internal systems.

There can be no shortage of reports, yet important questions about performance, priorities and opportunities remain unanswered.

I work with you to investigate those questions, examine the available information and identify what deserves attention.

Questions worth exploring

  • Which products, customers, retailers or channels are performing well?
  • Where might we be missing sales opportunities?
  • Are promotions and field activities delivering what we expect?
  • Which customers or locations deserve more attention?
  • Are we measuring performance consistently?
  • What information would make our next decision easier?

The starting point is the business question, not the reporting tool.

How I can help

I examine existing data, reports and business measures to see what they reveal, and where they may be incomplete or misleading.

Depending on the challenge, that could involve analysing sales patterns, comparing performance, exploring customer or store segments, and connecting different sources of information.

I'll work with you to interpret the findings and decide which opportunities are worth pursuing.

If new reporting, specialist analysis or technical development is needed, I can help define the requirements and coordinate with the right people.

Experience in practice

Focusing field activity where it matters

In a previous role, I developed a decision-making approach that brought together sales information, store characteristics and operational benchmarks.

For a client facing reduced budgets, it helped inform more selective store coverage, different visit frequencies and a redesign of field territories.

This enabled the available budget and field resources to be directed more deliberately, rather than applying the same approach to every location.

What you can expect

Depending on the agreed scope, you could receive:

  • An assessment of your existing information and reporting.
  • Analysis of the business questions that matter most.
  • Findings that highlight opportunities, gaps or areas requiring attention.
  • Recommendations on where to focus next.

The specific outputs, fee and payment terms are agreed before the engagement starts.

Let's talk about your business

Whether you've got a specific challenge or simply feel something could be working better, an initial conversation is a good place to start.
