Privacy & Cookies
How this website handles your information, which providers are involved, and the choices you have.
Who is responsible
This website is operated by Elliott Riley, an independent Business Technology & Data Consultant in the United Kingdom. Elliott Riley is the controller for personal information handled through this website.
Privacy questions or requests: privacy@elliottriley.com
What this website collects
The website has no contact forms, accounts or newsletter sign-up, and does not ask you to type in personal information.
Information is still processed automatically when you visit, as described below. If you email Elliott or book a conversation, the information you share is used to reply to you and, if you become a client, to provide the agreed services.
Hosting and built-in analytics (Lovable)
The website is built and hosted on the Lovable platform. As with any website, Lovable's servers receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the page requested, in order to deliver the site and keep it secure.
Lovable also provides built-in website analytics, which record visits and page views, links and buttons clicked, the referring website, approximate country, device and browser details, page speed and technical errors. It can also record anonymised session replays of how pages are used, with page text and anything typed masked.
This built-in analytics is provided at platform level and currently runs for all visitors; the choices you make in this site's cookie preferences do not switch it off. It is used to understand how the site is used and to fix problems, on the basis of legitimate interests. According to the platform, analytics data is generally kept for about 90 days and session replays for about 30 days.
Optional measurement (with your consent)
Only if you choose Accept, the site also records:
- Which service card on the home page you click.
- When you click a "Book a conversation" button, and where on the site it was.
- Campaign tags (such as utm_source) in the link you arrived from.
These are sent to Lovable's analytics and are not linked to your name or email. The lawful basis is consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Cookies and local storage
This site stores your privacy choice in your browser's local storage so it doesn't ask you again. This is strictly necessary and is not used for tracking.
No advertising or marketing trackers, and no Google Analytics, are used.
Website fonts
The site's typefaces, Fraunces and Source Sans 3, are hosted with the website. Your browser downloads them through the website's hosting infrastructure, not from Google Fonts. No connection to Google is made to load these fonts.
Booking a conversation (TidyCal)
"Book a conversation" links go to elliottriley.com/meet, which forwards you to the TidyCal booking page in a new tab:
https://tidycal.com/elliottriley/intro-conversation
Any campaign tags in your link are passed on to TidyCal. Information you enter there — such as your name, email address and chosen time — is collected by TidyCal under its own privacy policy and shared with Elliott to arrange the conversation. TidyCal may set its own cookies on its pages.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you can:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information held about you.
- Ask for inaccurate information to be corrected.
- Ask for your information to be deleted, where there is no good reason to keep it.
- Object to, or ask to restrict, how your information is used.
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis.
